Tribute for ‘My name is’ 06.2025
For this project, I created a tribute to the Parisian design studio “My Name Is”, whose approach and philosophy strongly inspire me. The assignment required me to design two objects, a flag, three postcards, a written publication (zine), and packaging. My concept was based on their ecological and efficient mindset. In one of their projects, they printed several different layflats together on a single sheet in order to save on printing costs and simplify production. This specific method really inspired me, so I decided to create one large modular design of my own. I risoprinted the full sheet and then cut it into postcards or folded it into zines. I produced two zines, and on top of the risoprint I added an extra digital print layer. My idea was that the zine could also be unfolded and used as a poster, reinforcing the versatility of the design.
For the objects, I translated personal stories from the studio into tangible pieces. I customized a toy moving truck into a branded “My Name Is” vehicle, referencing their story about how a painted truck once inspired them to design their typeface “Movers.” I also designed a vinyl cover: on one side featuring My Name Is by Eminem (the origin of their studio’s name) and on the other side an indie track, reflecting the music they often listened to in their studio. For the overall visual language, I drew inspiration from their own graphic style and typefaces, weaving it into the entire project as a personal homage.
